Commissioning of the Second Batch of Blue Water Guards at Shama District Assembly.

The District Chief Executive Hon. Paul Otis Dentu and the District Coordinating Director commissioned the second batch of Blue Water Guards. These brave men and women are part of Ghana’s specialized community-based force, trained by the Ghana Navy to combat illegal mining (“galamsey”) and protect our vital water resources.

The Blue Water Guards play a critical role in safeguarding our environment, preventing pollution, and ensuring that our communities continue to have access to clean and safe water. Their training in surveillance, monitoring, and community engagement equips them to respond effectively to environmental threats and support sustainable development.

Congratulations to the new batch of guards and wish them success as they take on this important responsibility.
