Sensitization on Deforestation and Afforestation for Students at Bronikrom D/A Primary by Department of Agriculture -Shama.
On the 2nd July, 2021 Five [5] schools were invited by the District Agric. Department for Sensitization on Deforestation and Afforestation and the schools honored the invitation. Students from four communities were mobilized to and from to the venue. After the welcome address by Bronikrom head teacher, a speech was given by the District Coordinator representative follow by Director of Agric Shama on the reason for the gathering.
Activities Carried Out
1.Students were sensitized on deforestation.
2.Students were sensitized on the benefits of trees.
3.Students were sensitized on benefits of planting trees.
4.Students were sensitized on why planting trees at this time of the year.
5.Students were sensitized on afforestation.
6.Students were sensitized on where to plant the trees.
7.Students were sensitized on how to plant the trees.
8.Students were sensitized on care and protection of the trees.
9.Demonstration was done on the fields on tree planting process for students to see and learn.
10.Trees were present to various schools by the director of agriculture shama.
After the classroom exercise, forty [40] trees were given to each schools to take back to their respectful schools and plant on their school compounds and along major streets in their communities in support of green Ghana project.
The training was attended by 34 individuals of which 15 where females and 19 been males as indicated in the table attached.

The program was organized by the crop unit of the agriculture department of Shama in collaboration with NADMO and District Assembly.
