District Environmental Health embark on Medical Screening and Orientation for Food Vendors in Shama District.

Medical screening exercise and orientation was organized for food vendors District wide which one thousand one hundred and two (1,102) food vendors were covered. Few of them were diagnosed positive of typhoid fever and were treated.

The vendors were educated to keep their environment and utensils clean and neat and to provide fly proof nets for the food stores, eating places and the kitchens so as to prevent flies and animals from entering.

Medical Screening And Health Education of School Feeding Programme Workers.

School feeding workers were also covered which eighty (80) of them were medically screened. They were also educated to keep their environment and utensils clean and neat and practice proper personal hygiene since they are serving our future leaders. They should also provide quality food with good nutritional oriented ingredients.

They were asked to provide uniform, apron and head gears to their workers. They should see to it that the children keep their plates and cutleries neat and well preserved in their bags after feeding. Food should be well cooked before serving to the children.
