ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY TOUR BY GHANA ARMED FORCES COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE HELD IN SHAMA
On Tuesday, 22nd September 2026, the Shama District Assembly, under the leadership of the Hon. Paul Otis Dentu, District Chief Executive, hosted participants of the Environmental Study Tour of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (Junior Division) as part of the College’s Junior Staff Course (JSC) 86.
The study tour aimed at assessing current environmental issues, identifying challenges and problem areas, and exploring practical solutions to addressing them.
The delegation comprised officers of the rank of Army Captain/Major or equivalent in the Navy and Air Force, including participants from other sister African countries, supported by staff of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College.
During the engagement, the participants interacted with relevant officials and gathered information on environmental issues within the District as part of their broader assessment and study. The visit also provided an opportunity for knowledge sharing and institutional engagement between the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College and the Shama District Assembly, while highlighting the importance of collaboration in addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development.
The Shama District Assembly appreciates the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College for selecting the District as one of the destinations for the study tour and looks forward to continued collaboration in promoting environmental sustainability, effective local governance and community development.
