Shama District Assembly Selected among 56 global Subnational as an Open Government Partnership (OGP) member.
We are excited to see Shama District, Western Region, Ghana join open Government partnership OGP Local. Local government plays a key role in open government by being closer to the people and delivers crucial services that require effective and responsive local government. This great success will bring Reformers in and outside of government who will work together to ensure our government is open, inclusive, participatory, and responsive to the needs of all citizens in our District.
Today, it is a victory for the citizens of Shama District as selection offers a great opportunity for our government & citizens to work together and ensure the open government values of transparency, accountability, inclusion, & participation are upheld at the local level.
