A Two Day Orientation  Workshop for Staff on the newly developed Client Service Unit Operational Manual at the Church of Pentecost – Shama by the Human Resource Department of Shama District Assembly

The Shama District Assembly in collaboration with the Regional Coordinating Council, organized a two-day orientation workshop for the staff to among other things, sought to introduce, educate and inform the staff on the newly developed client service manual for them to better understand and appreciate the total concept of the client service unit.  It was also to familiarize them with the demand of their roles and responsibilities; and requisite knowledge, skills and attitude needed for efficient and effective performance of the client service unit.

Day 1

The Regional Human Resource Manager took the participants through the general overview of Local Government Service and the Client Service Unit.. He also educated them on the number of sections under the CSU.

The Regional Human Resource Manager again took the participants through the Client Service Unit operational manual, touching on the structure of the CSU.

Touching on the client of the Assembly, he categorized them as “those coming in for a visit, those to make enquiries and those to make complaints.

He also touched on the responsibilities of the various department towards the CSU, i.e.MIS, Management, among others.

He again touched on the organization, as well as the functions of the various sections of the unit, and the Vision and mission of the CSU.

Day 2

The second day began with a prayer by Mr. Prince Akowah.   This was followed by a recap of the previous day’s session.

The RHRM began his presentation by touching on the various officers to occupy positions in the CSU.

He continued by touching on the electronic based complaint system as well as the functional requirements, and the compliance monitoring system. 

He finally touched on the operational procedures and the procedures for handling clients at the CSU

This was followed by role play by some selected participants.

He ended his presentation by thanking staff for their co-operation throughout the two-day training.

The District Coordinating Director in his closing remarks commended the participants for participating in the workshop and expressed his appreciation to the Regional Human Resource Manager for his time and effort in making the training workshop a success.
