Sensitization of E-Tankas at Shama District Assembly

In 2022, the Western Regional Coordinating Council have planned to introduce E- Tankas into the operational system of Environmental Health Unit of Districts in Western Region to control the environmental sanitation practices in the Region. The system is operated electronically which when in fully operational, the general public would be rolled onto the program to provide information on bad sanitation practices to the District Assemblies for action to be Taken.

Base on the above plans by the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), the Shama District Assembly with its able leader, Hon.  District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Ebenezer Dadzie have started intensive public sensitization programs in the communities and the FM Radio Station (Radio Shama) to create awareness in the citizens of the program and how they should also feed the Environmental Health Unit (EHU) and the District Assembly of information on sanitation issues especially those who do not practice good sanitation in their localities.

House to house and Individuals educations were also carried out in the communities. An offender of insanitary urinal in an eating premises had already been fine of an amount of two hundred Ghana cedis (GH200.00) which had been paid into the Assembly’s Bank Account and GCR receipt issued.
