Training On Intersectoral Procedures On Child Protection And Family Welfare Held On Friday 23rd July,2021

The Department of Social Welfare and Community Development held a day workshop on Intersectoral Procedures and Family Welfare and 30 (10 males and 20 females) key stakeholders were trained to strengthen the delivery of Integrated Social Services on Friday, 23rd July 2021 at Ghana Education Service Conference Room in Shama District.

WHY   INTERSECTORAL STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES (ISSOP)

The District Director of Social Welfare and Community Development made a presentation on the Inter – Sectoral Standard Operating Procedures to participants. She explained that Inter – Sectoral Standard Operating Procedures for child and Family Welfare is aimed at a harmonized framework of agreed standards, principles and procedure for all forms of child protection and family welfare which will help all stake holders to understand each other’s roles and responsibilities. She said in addition to that ISSOP was designed by UNICEF and it is supposed to be used by all formal and informal actors that provides service to children who have suffered or likely to suffer various forms of abuse, violence, exploitation or who have been in conflict / contact with law.

She further stated that, the ISSOP developed has helped the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development to have accurate data in providing service delivery at district level.

Participants invited were actors of various institution that deal directly or indirectly with child protection and family welfare issues in our communities. The total number of attendance that participated in the workshop on Intersectoral Procedures for child Protection and Family Welfare were thirty (30).
