President Akufo – Addo Commission Phase 3 And Cut Sod For Phase 4 Of Keda Ceramics Factory In Shama.

President Akufo- Addo has commissioned Phase 3 of the KEDA Ceramics factory and cut sod for phase 4, which construction has begun in September 2019, and was completed in June 2021.
The factory has generated some 2,000 direct and 5,000 indirect employment opportunities, with the company has invested some $150 million in all three phases, resulting in an increased production capacity of 150,000 square meters of tiles per day.
 Currently, the company exports 60% of tiles produced to the West African market.
It may be recalled that the President on Tuesday, 23rd July 2019, cut the sod for the third phase of expansion works of the factory, a company operating under the Government’s “One District, One Factory” initiative.
President Akufo-Addo stated, at the time, that the operations of the company had accounted for a significant reduction in the import of tiles by as much as 14%.
He added that the contribution that the company has made to the industrialization agenda of the country and the transformation of the economy was significant
President Akuffo Addo was particularly happy about the decision of the company to source its raw materials locally.
 He minced no words as he encouraged that is the most efficient way we can develop our economy and begin to address the living standards of the local people
Lorry Li managing director of Keda ceramic expressed gratitude to the government for their support and assistance given on the commissioning of the third phase and Sod cutting of phase 4.
He said the commissioning and Sod Cutting marked a milestone in the local ceramic tiles manufacturing industry of the country.
He added that they were on course in making Ghana an industry hub of Africa.
