The Environmental Health Unit embarked on School Health Education at Shama District
The Environmental Health Officers have educated some teacher in the district on how to keep the children in their schools neat and clean always. They were asked to keep their environments, gutters, and all sanitary facilities clean by using soap and detergents for cleaning them morning, afternoon and evenings.
The teachers were asked to always keep their eyes on the children’s movement if they were in school and on break time to monitor their behaviours should in case any of them shows sign of sickness.
The children were also educated to be of good behaviour and not to be roaming around in the bushes near to the schools so as to be dirty or bitten by snakes. They were asked to report ill-health to their teachers.
They were also trained on regular washing of hand with clean running water and soap.
