The Environmental Health Unit embarked on a follow-up visit to food premises.

As part of routine compliance to hygiene and sanitary directives, a team of Environmental Health Officers, went on a monitoring visit to various food vendors and school feeding caterers in the district to ascertain the level of sanitation practices.

In all, 215 food premises and 112 school feeding premises were visited to ascertain their compliance with proper sanitation, hygiene and preparing nutritious food directives discussed with them by the Environmental Health Unit.

With these directives given them, majority of them have done well for complying and taken it very seriously.  The inspection team commended those who have done well and took action against those who did not do well after some offenses were detected with them.

 After some days, the Team revisited the premises of the offenders on the 4th to 6th October, 2023 and everything was corrected to the satisfaction of the Team.
